Over the concluding stages, when racing in close proximity to CRIMSON GOD, attempted to savage that runner. Stewards drew this to the attention of trainer T. Bell and placed a warning on the horse’s record.

Lunged forward in the barriers and made heavy contact with the front gates prior to the start. The veterinary surgeon reported that post-race the gelding had blood present in one nostril which he believed could be attributable to external trauma.

Began extremely awkwardly, almost dislodging its rider and losing ground, and then hung out badly throughout and took no competitive part in the event. Connections were advised that the horse must trial to the satisfaction of stewards. J. Lloyd reported that in his opinion the horse resented racing in the Kyneton nose band, which was an addition to the horse’s gear I today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities other than that the horse had lost both fore plates in running.
