Jockey R. Fradd was asked to comment on the performance of the filly. Of particular concern was when the horse appeared to lose ground during the middle stages, when passing the 800m and again after the 600m. He indicated that VITAL LOVE was, in his opinion, somewhat field shy, and shifted in when leaving the 800m, bumping the rail, and after other runners improved to the filly’s outside she laid in and away from those runners, bumping the running rail on a number of occasions. He added that he was obliged to pressure the horse at these points of the event in an attempt to hold its posit
