When asked to comment on the disappointing performance, jockey M. Cahill indicated that, in his opinion, the horse may not have appreciated racing on a firm surface as it did not stretch out when asked for an effort in the home straight. Trainer A. Jones agreed with jockey Cahills comments. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
