Jockey R. Fradd reported his mount raced flat today and never travelled well throughout the event and proved disappointing in its finishing effort, adding that the horse laid in from the 600m onwards. The trainer’s representative indicated that the horse had returned to scale in a distressed state. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant findings.

Apprentice J. Guthmann-Chester could offer no explanation for today’s disappointing performance, which weakened over the final 600m and tailed the field. A post race veterinary examination found the horse to have a poor post race recovery. Stewards will follow up with trainer M. Costa as to how the horse has recovered.
