Held up for clear running approaching the 400m and shifted out in attempt to secure clear running and in doing so made heavy contact with another runner, causing both horses to become unbalanced. Rider S. Cormack was reprimanded in relation to this incident and advised to exercise more care. Laid out badly under pressure from the 350m, causing its rider to pull the whip through to the nearside and causing its rider to ride hands and heels from approaching the 100m. Overraced approaching the first turn and as a result was obliged to race three wide without cover. The veterinary surgeon reported that the gelding was exhibiting a post-race cough. Trainer M. Mair was advised that prior to the horse’s next start he will be required to produce a veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination.
