Approaching the 1000m was bumped by another runner and forced in across heels and had to be steadied. Raced wide without cover. Stewards asked jockey P. Hammersley to comment on the performance of the horse. He indicated he had been instructed to take up a forward position, which in the early stages he felt he was going to obtain a position one off behind the leaders, however when DON’T STUTTER improved to his inside near the 1000m he was obliged to remain 3 wide. He indicated that the horse racing 3 wide without cover did have a detrimental effect on the overall performance, however he

Batters was advised that he must provide a further barrier certificate for the horse in a jump-out or trial prior to its next race start. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
