Lloyd reported he had intended to be positioned closer to the lead anticipating he would be able to follow DOWNLOADING into a forward position, however when that horse did not proceed forward as he had anticipated he was obliged to steady and settle in the second half of the field.

When the pace slackened near the 900m, the gelding commenced to overrace and raced with its head in the air and was uncontrollable, causing interference to a number of other runners, and also clipping heels and blundering near the 700m. Trainer M. Kropp was advised that the horse must officially trial prior to its next race start. Mr Kropp indicated in light of today’s performance he would discuss the horse’s racing future with the connections.
