After leading for the majority of the race commenced to weaken on entering the home straight and finished a distant last. Jockey R. Wiggins elected not to pressure his mount over the concluding stages as he felt the horse was awkward in its action. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia and connections were advised that a veterinary certificate must be provided, including the results of an ECG test prior to its next race start, and the gelding must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
