Restrained after passing the 400m and took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Jockey L. Tarrant advised stewards that at that point of the race he felt that the horse had suffered an injury in a hind limb and as a result it commenced to weaken and he then restrained the horse. A further post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be showing signs of distress with possible systemic implications.
