Blundered and became unbalanced near the 500m. A. Spinks was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out to the end of the race. Trainer M. Lakey reported to stewards that the horse had bled from one nostril. Mr Lakey was advised that MANHATTANITE would be required to gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward prior to racing again.

Brooker reported that she had been instructed to attempt to obtain cover, however the horse overraced and she was obliged to lead and in light of this she recommended to connections to consider removing the blinkers prior to next start. T. Brooker was reminded of her obligation to ride her mounts out to the end of the race.
