Slow to begin. Checked to avoid the heels of THE CARPENTER shortly after the start. S. Galloway, the rider of THE CARPENTER, was severely reprimanded for shifting in when not sufficiently clear at that point. Overraced and was green, refusing to settle through the early and middle stages and as a result shifted very wide on the track after passing the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Connections were advised that the horse must officially trial prior to its next start.
