Slow to begin and was slow into stride. Stewards asked jockey Appo to comment on the performance of the mare. He indicated after being slow to begin his mount did not muster any early speed and he was obliged to pressure the horse throughout the early and middle stages in order to maintain contact with the main body of the field. He added however that PARIS CRYSTAL finished off well and was doing its best work over the concluding stages. He therefore recommended to connections to step the mare up over more ground.
