Shifted out abruptly near the 400m, almost dislodging its rider, causing its rider to lose the use of the nearside iron. Trainer L. Ross was advised that the horse must officially trial prior to being permitted to race again. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Shortly after entering the home straight was tightened for room between SWEET RHAPSODY and PATTY’S FORTUNE, which after establishing a run to the outside of READY TO BOLT was obliged to shift out slightly when READY TO BOLT shifted out. This resulted in minor contact with STELLAR WAY and shortly afterwards PATTY’S FORTUNE reacted poorly to this contact and shifted out abruptly, severely tightening the running of STELLAR WAY, causing that horse to be checked.
