Near the 700m when placed under pressure put in several awkward strides, shortly after its rider elected to ease it out of the event. Rider B Thompson reported the gelding felt very awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not identify any abnormal findings. Trainer T Miller was advised that the gelding must trial to satisfaction of stewards prior to resuming.
