When questioned Jockey said that he had been instructed to lead. He stated that after being slow to begin he rode his mount hard in the early stages, from its wide barrier, in an attempt to comply with those instructions. He added that after obtaining the lead his mount still raced keenly.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance Apprentice said instructions were to lead, as per established racing pattern. She said that after beginning well she was able to obtain the lead, and although another runner improved to her outside, the gelding travelled comfortably, however was disappointing from the 600 metres. Trainer advised that the gelding would not race beyond 1000 metres in future and would advise if any abnormalities were revealed in coming days.
