COT: To be ridden back; settled back. Stewards considered an objection lodged by second placegetter against mare alleging interference over final 100m. On the evidence stewards found that passing the 200m mare improved from a position behind second placegetter and at 100m improved past that runner and shifted into the running of second placegetter however the interference was deemed negligible. Given the minor nature of the interference and the margin of 1 ¾ lengths stewards deemed the protest to be frivolous. Accordingly, the protest was dismissed and the judge’s placings ordered to stand.

From the 900 metres hung out and could not be placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have sustained an injury to its offside stifle. Trainer was told that prior to racing a veterinary certificate of fitness must be produced and that the mare would have to perform satisfactorily in an official trial.
