Jockey J Murphy advised that at the 450 metres he noted that Betta Al had been hanging out and he was contemplating taking a run to that horses inside at that point however Betta Al shifted back in and the run closed. He then elected to follow Croagh Patrick and moved around the heels of the winner Lucky Jim at the 200 meters to obtain clear running and was again disappointed when the run between Croagh Patrick and Betta Al closed due to Betta Al shifting inwards. Jumped in at the start colliding with another runner. Cast an off-fore plate in running. Performed poorly and was inspected by the Club Veterinary Surgeon who reported that the filly was lame in the off foreleg as a result of a hoof injury caused when the plate dislodged. A veterinary certificate of fitness will be required before Real Emotion races again.
