When questioned regarding the performance, jockey advised that after beginning from an outside barrier he had to pressure the horse to obtain its usual leading position and, in his opinion, the fast tempo of today’s race, combined with the weight of 59 kilograms, resulted in the horse tiring over the final 200m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
