Bumped near the 1500m. On returning to scale jockey N. Tomizawa advised that his mount at no stage handled the prevailing track conditions tonight and when asked to improve into the race from the 600m when ridden along with the whip the gelding failed to respond to his riding and for that reason he desisted from pressuring the horse over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
