On returning to scale apprentice B. Newport advised that his mount at no stage travelled strongly throughout the event and when placed under pressure rounding the home turn failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing

Raced ungenerously from the 1200m whilst being restrained until assuming a position one off the fence with cover approaching the 800m. On returning to scale S. Bogenhuber reported that in her opinion the horse may have got its tongue over the bit during the event.

Eased down over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the horse had abnormal breathing. Trainer R. Hilton advised that it is now intended that the horse leave his stable. However, Stewards advised Mr Hilton that should the horse race again, prior to resuming racing a veterinary clearance and the results of an endoscopic examination must be provided.
