Jockey J. Stanley reported that his mount was inclined to hang in in the early stages, however travelled strongly in the middles stages. He added that from the 500m, when asked to improve into the race, the gelding failed to quicken as he had anticipated and in the home straight felt very awkward in its action, and he therefore eased the horse down over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. In light of jockey Stanley’s comments, Stewards will follow-up with Trainer D. Hansen in the following days regarding the horse’s post-race recovery.
