Had to be steadied near the 800m when placed in restricted room between CLOSE ENOUGH and AMARYLISS, which shifted in. Lost the off fore plate in running. When questioned as to the horse’s seemingly improved performance, trainer B. Smith stated that the filly did not appreciate the soft conditions at its last start. Mr Smith noted that its last start was 5 weeks ago as he had been forced to scratch the filly on a number of occasions to avoid wet tracks. Mr Smith added that the filly was also suited today by the drop back in distance to 1200m from a good barrier.

Reared as the start was effected, after which it became momentarily cast, almost dislodging jockey L. Dittman, and missing the start and losing significant ground, following which it failed to take any competitive part in the event. This incident was therefore the result of the barrier manners of ALL GIFTS and it was afforded every opportunity to start with the rest of the field. Stewards therefore declared the horse a runner. Vetted, no significant findings. Trainer A. Willick was advised that the gelding must compete in an official barrier trial prior to its next start.
