Trainer C. Waller advised that it is the intention for the gelding to be ridden further forward today if circumstances permit. When questioned by Stewards regarding the gelding’s performance, jockey M. Cahill advised that after being slow to begin the gelding failed to muster early speed, and due to the fast early tempo was hard ridden at the tail of the field for the majority of the race to hold its position. He added that in the home straight the gelding ran on fairly, and he believes that the horse may be better suited over further distances. A post-race vet exam revealed no abnormalities.

Overraced in the early and middle stages. Jockey N. Tomizawa reported that the mare overraced in the early stages and, in his opinion, was not suited by GULLY COMMAND racing to its outside during the middle stages. He added that the mare is better suited when able to lead in its races without being pressured, and he advised that he was disappointed in the mare’s performance today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
