Raced keenly in the early stages when positioned outside the lead. Commenced to weaken after passing the 500m and finished at the rear of the field. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, apprentice N. Keal stated that the gelding travelled moderately throughout and when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality and a swab sample was taken.
