Changed stride in the early stages of the home straight and, as a result, shifted in abruptly resulting in jockey Beau Appo becoming unbalanced. Jockey Beau Appo reported that he was instructed to lead on the gelding today, which was having its first race start, however after beginning only fairly, he rode is mount along in the early stages before obtaining a position in the second half of the field.
