Jockey M. Cahill reported that his mount never travelled at any stage of the race, which he attributed to the filly being reluctant to stretch out on the firm going today. Trainer Mr. R. Lipp agreed with jockey Cahill’s assessment and added that, in his opinion, the filly would be better suited on surfaces with more give than that of today’s race. Stewards noted the explanation. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly revealed no significant findings.
