Jockey J. Oliver could offer no tangible explanation for the gelding’s poor performance today. Trainer L. Hatch expressed disappointment in the performance, however he advised that, in his opinion, the horse’s first up run was also only fair. Mr. Hatch added that prior to committing to where he will place the horse next, he will arrange for it to undergo an endoscopic examination and will report to Stewards should any abnormality become apparent. A post-race veterinary examination of the horse revealed no apparent abnormalities. A swab sample was taken from the gelding.
