Commenced to weaken after passing the 300m and finished a distant last. The gelding returned to the enclosure making an abnormal respiratory noise. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer R. Drysdale reported that the tongue-tie on the gelding had become displaced during the race which may have had a bearing on its performance today.
