Nothdurft reported that it was his intention to race in a handy position but after finding the lead without pressure the mare raced keenly when pressure was applied by SHUDA KNOWN BETTER and INCHING CLOSER and, as a result, TRICKY MIX refused to settle. Apprentice Nothdurft added that, in his opinion, this may have had a bearing on the mare’s finishing effort over the final stages.
