When questioned by Stewards in relation to the seemingly improved performance, trainer G. Schwenke advised that, in his opinion, the mare had been unlucky at its last start which preceded its most recent spell. He added that the horse had been working well leading up to today’s race and for this reason he had expected a forward showing today. He went on to say that the stable had supported the mare today.
