Began awkwardly. Rider R. Maloney advised that from a wide draw he had to make use of the mare to secure a position closer to the rail. He further added that the mare had a tendency to over race when leading which he attributed to PEONY SURPRISE having not started since the 1st of December 2023 and for this reason, he felt the mare failed to finish off the event as anticipated. Trainer C. Meagher concurred with the comments of R. Maloney and advised Stewards he would monitor the mare’s recovery and would advise Stewards of anything that may come to light.
