Raced keenly in the early stages. When asked to comment on the gelding’s form improvement, trainer M. Nolan stated that the gelding was second up today from it’s most recent start at Ipswich 6/1/2024. Mr Nolan noted that on that occasion, GRANITE PRINCE did not have a lot of luck approaching the home turn and as it was first up, it would derive natural improvement from the run. Mr Nolan also added that GRANITE PRINCE was better suited over today’s distance and on a more favourable racing surface he did expect improvement.

Began awkwardly and was bumped shortly after. Over raced in the middle stages. Bumped on the hind quarters leaving the 250m by O’MISS BEHAVING. Rider B. Thompson could offer no explanation for the mare’s disappointing performance. Trainer M. Hoysted advised Stewards they would give consideration to dropping the mare back in distance at its next start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
