Held up from 600m until after 400m & when attempting to shift out, was unable to & again held up for sev strides before shifting back in near 300m to obtain clear run. Rdr explained mare settled rear & about 700m, held position, rather than shifting 4 wide & making run then-said mount then held up when weakening horse caused interference to runners in front, so elected to follow runner towards inside which was travelling well, hoping run would appear on straightening-attempted to shift to out on straightening, but shifted in for clear run. Vet exam found lame o/fore Vet Cert req.

Contacted the outside rail on several occasions enroute to the barriers & vetted at the start. Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover for the majority. Near the 200m, momentarily steadied from heels. Rdr sev/reprimanded for failing to ride gelding out over final 150m.

After being wide, was obliged to go forward and settle outside the lead near the 1500m. Rdr could offer no explanation for performance of gelding, which commenced to weaken approaching the 500m. A post-race vet exam revealed no abs. Tnr notified gelding must perform to satisfaction of Stewards in an Official trial, prior to racing again.
