Form Analysis: Albion Park January 18

RACE 1 

STUDLEIGH PUNTER (7) is a huge class dropper in this race having taken on some smart 4YOs last start including Dele Row. He battled on very well to run a clear second beaten just 4.2 metres in a 1.52.4 mile. He will likely look to launch forward at the start and is a very good chance of finding the front. 

AQUA SANCTA (5) has been in impressive form rarely far away in any of his races this time in. He closed strongly late last start in a race behind Free Thinker which looks good form for this race. 

RISK TAKER (2) was sent forward last start before being forced to the rear after failing to find a position. He made up ground late and draws favourably this time. 

BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (4) got a long way back last start in a race that was just slowly run. He was making up strong ground late and would be better suited by a stronger tempo.

RACE 2 

FREE THINKER (9) returned a winner last start after working to the front from a back row draw. He is a classy horse that contested The TAB Eureka and was beaten just 8.6m in his last run prior to a spell. He should derive good benefit from that first up run and looks hardest to beat. 

O B LEGAL (1) is a gate speed horse that was able to show brilliant gate speed to find the front last start. He drops in grade in this race using the claim of Jack Chapple. He has options in the early stages. 

COLLECT A DIME (8) secured a good run three back on the pegs last start and was able to rail into third there. He looks likely to secure a similar trip in this race and can be in the placings again. 

MONSIEUR DELACOUR (7) took on a slightly weaker field last start and got a long way back there. He powered to the line late and would appreciate a good tempo.

RACE 3

LEAP TO FAME (11) the champion returns in what looks a very suitable first up assignment. He was given a fairly easy time of things in a recent trial which he was able to win. He looks likely to work around to the top in this race and that is likely where he finishes. 

CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (7) has been terrific since returning from a spell having scored a hat-trick of wins in recent starts. His last start win was dominant putting a margin on his rivals late. He may look for the top in this race before likely handing over to the very short priced favourite. 

NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (10) is rarely ever far away and despite his age is seemingly not far off his career best form. He finished off well last start out wide in a race the first two home were on the pegs. Looks an awkward draw in this race but is likely to be finishing off well again. 

TIMS A TROOPER (8) got a long way back last start from a wide gate. He powered home in the concluding stages. He will need to navigate what looks a tricky draw.

RACE 4

MISS FROUFROU (1) was forced to breeze last start in a similar field and battled away gamely there. She draws favourably in this race and has options in the early stages. Should she secure the right run she will be hard to beat. 

MISS MUCHO (8) had no luck last start. She draws behind a horse with gate speed and looks likely to secure a favourable run. She should be finishing off strong. 

BONNIES DANCE (6) she worked forward last start and couldn’t obtain the front in the early stages before being forced to dive in three back the pegs. When the run came late she powered through and was only beaten by a horse that’s been very impressive in recent times Miki Magic. 

AARDIES MONEY (4) is a horse that’s still yet to put everything together, but looks to have lots of ability. Her win recently when doing things wrong, sitting without cover and proving too good was very impressive.

RACE 5

ALLNIGHT DANCER (3) appeared to have her chance last start when securing a good run through and just being beaten by a horse that’s come from behind her. She looks to land in another suitable qualifying racing and is may be an opportunity for her to find the lead for the first time in Queensland. 

MAJORITA JUJON (9) led last start and was just beaten when finishing 1.9m away in third. She will be looking to finish off strong late which she has done on a number of occasions. 

RAINBOWSEND (5) was take back and sent to the pegs last start before struggling to obtain a clear run in the concluding stages appearing to have a bit to give. She is likely to get back from the wide draw and will be looking to do her best work late. 

ALWAYSBEALADY (6) was doing her best work late last start when closing off well. Her two runs in QLD have both been sound and she should be better for her latest outing given she was a month between runs there.

RACE 6

CALL ME TROUBLE (4) has returned to form in recent starts. He scored a great win last start in fast time from the stand start. He isn’t a brilliant beginner from the stand which could be his undoing early. 

TOP OF THE MOMENT (5) is a brilliantly high speed trotter that can do plenty wrong. He has been in good form and if he can secure a soft enough run off the speed he will be fighting out the finish. 

NOT AS PROMISED (2) started one of the favourites last start despite drawing inside the back row. He made an error in the early stages which was the end of his chances. He can bounce back in this. 

GOLDEN SUNSET (3) has been very good from behind the tapes so far in her time with Shawn Grimsey. She will be looking to get the jump on key rivals in the early stages.

RACE 7

SAVAGE STORM (6) is a filly that’s shown above average ability. She was impressive in scoring back to back wins when working to the front and leading all the way. She didn’t have the best of luck last start and can bounce back. 

WICKED BEAUTY (3) scored a nice debut last start. They didn’t run fast time but she quickened nicely and it looked a win of a filly with plenty of ability. 

TAKING A PUNT (5) has a nice turn of foot when able to obtain the right run. He has done things wrong in recent starts and needs to bring his best behaviour to figure in this.
