Form Analysis: Albion Park January 24

RACE 1 

ALDEBARANSTILINSKI (2) is a horse that has plenty of ability but has a tendency to do things wrong. His best efforts would see him hard to beat in this race from a good draw. 

PHEONIX RED (6) has shown good ability while in QLD. Trialled recently soundly enough for a race of this nature and looks a top chance with the right run. 

MILLY AN EYRE (1) was able to show some gate speed last start to sit leaders back in the run and run an easy second behind Triage. This race looks to have a touch more depth. 

ITSALLANDOVER (5) drops right back in grade for this race and looks well suited. If he can recapture some of his best form he should be thereabouts.

RACE 2 

MAJOR GENERALJUJON (9) didn’t make much impression last start when out the back in a race they dashed home in. He may have found a more suitable race here. 

WILLIEWA LIGHTNING (4) has done things wrong in recent starts. He draws well enough and could potentially find himself up on speed. 

ROCKNROLL DA GAMA (5) has been racing well. Looks a race that could generate some early speed which would allow him to run on again. 

BETTING BARON (10) hasn’t been far away in recent outings. He looks suited in this race.

RACE 3

TRACER BULLET (3) is a gate speed horse that could find himself in front in this race. He just worked too hard last start and was entitled to tire there, his form prior had been good enough. 

GELDOF (10) ran on strongly late at Redcliffe behind Shadys Delight. He has been in consistent form and this looks suitable. 

SPORTS MODE (9) scored two runs ago when able to find the leaders back trail before finishing off strongest. Last start didn’t have the best of luck when held up until very late. 

THE BLUE WREN (8) didn’t have the best of luck last start when running into a good third there.

RACE 4 

JIMMY JOYCE (9) faced the breeze last start in a much stronger race and battled away gamely. He looks much better suited in this race and can prove hard to beat. 

MACS A DUDE (5) was able to zip across to lead two starts ago and scored a dominant win. May find this tougher but does appear a race he may be able to lead in again. 

JAY TEE TYRON (3) was shuffled a long way back on the pegs last start which was the end of his chances. He tends to begin better when drawn between horses and looks less likely to be held up in this. 

ROYAL PRINCESS (6) has impressed in recent starts. She ran on strongly behind Goodtime Cracker last start to get into second there.

BET: JIMMY JOYCE (9) to win. 

RACE 5

SOHO CASABLANCA (6) was a dominant winner last start after finding the front he scored by a huge margin of 23.5 metres. Whether he can find the front or not again in this race he looks clearly the hardest to beat and should be nearing peak fitness. 

BRITTS MATE (5) has shown she has plenty of ability and can run on off solid tempos which she is likely to get in this race. 

KATACHA MAN (3) has been in impressive form this time in putting in a number of very good runs. If he was able to find a prominent position on speed he could certainly take beating. 

ELEGANT WOMAN (1) has gate one which would be of great benefit to most horses but she is yet to really show much gate speed. She may be shuffled back which could make things tricky in this race for her.

SUGGESTED BET: SOHO CASABLANCA (6) to win. 

RACE 6 

ROCKNPENNY (6) got back from gate one two starts ago when crossed in the early stages by Khulan Kid. He appeared to hit the line strongly late once into the clear. He took on a stronger race last start and this appears easier. 

IMA BEACH BABE (8) draws to potentially get a suitable run through in the early stages. She has impressed since joining the Chantal Turpin stable and is seemingly better over a mile. 

KHULAN KID (7) has been very impressive in recent outings scoring wins in two of his last three starts. He zipped off the gate last start and chose to hand over to the smart The Mighty Sully. They rated good time and he wasn’t beaten too far. 

BEV THE GOAT (1) appears to have the gate speed to dictate in the early stages. She has shown good ability at times so far in QLD and is likely to be thereabouts again from the good draw.

RACE 7

THE TIGER ARMY (9) took on a heat of the Golden Guitar last start at Tamworth and worked extremely hard there doing well to battle on to be beaten just 15 metres. He looks well placed in this field and should prove hard to beat. 

ZOOM PARTY (2) has plenty of gate speed and should be able to find the front in the early stages before having options from there. He tends to go best when able to obtain cover which may be what he looks to do in this race. 

FIREBOLT (5) worked into second last start behind big winner Soho Casablanca. May look to get forward in this race. 

GOODTIME CRACKER (7) showed good gate speed and was able to lead and win last start over the mile at this track. Is likely to find this a lot tougher.
