When questioned regarding the horse’s seemingly improved performance, trainer C. Weston explained that at the mare’s last start it was obliged to race wide throughout and also the rider had reported to him that she had concerns with the mare’s action and therefore she was reluctant to pressure the mare over the final stages, which had exaggerated its beaten margin. Stewards noted Mr Weston’s comments.

Weakened over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the horse’s disappointing performance, apprentice S. Sweeney stated that after racing wide and having to pressure her mount in the early and middle stages to obtain a forward position, the filly was then unable to finish the race off as anticipated. She added that the filly was not entirely comfortable in its action over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
