Slow to begin. Shifted out away from heels at the entrance to the straight. When questioned regarding the performance, jockey J. Lloyd stated that after being slow to begin he settled further back than anticipated and, in his opinion, this had a detrimental effect on its performance and performs best when being able to settle in a forward position. A post race veterinary examination revealed it had been galloped on on the off hind leg.
