Lloyd explained that the horse had the blinkers off today and he was instructed to settle the horse towards the rear of the field as in his view at its last start with the blinkers on it overraced and that affected its ability to finish the race off. Slipped over in the mounting yard, examined by veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Blundered badly soon after the start, almost dislodging apprentice H. English. In this incident apprentice English lost the use of both of her irons and took some distance to regain them and as a result SOHO FLYER took no competitive part in the race.
