Became awkwardly placed at the heels of THE BANDIT when attempting to obtain cover passing the 1500m and had to be shifted out. Was then forced to race three wide without cover from that point and passing the 1300m was allowed to stride forward to obtain the position outside the lead passing the 1100m and then continued to overrace.

Improved on to the heels of THE BANDIT passing the 1000m and had to shift out. Failed to respond when placed under pressure rounding the home turn. When questioned, jockey M. Cahill indicated that in his opinion the gelding may not have appreciated being cluttered up and racing between runners, adding that the gelding may be better suited at distances shorter than that of today’s event.
