Began awkwardly. J. Byrne reported that the mare travelled well throughout the event, however, when placed under pressure to improve approaching the home turn failed to respond to his riding. Trainer T. Gollan advised that it would now be the intention to send the mare for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a slow post-race recovery.
