Leaving the 1000m L. Tarrant rode vigorously to improve to the inside of JARDIN ROUGE, which was racing three wide and being restrained to a position one off the rail, and soon afterwards BRYAN had to be eased from the heels of JARDIN ROUGE and moved in slightly, tightening the room of DRUMBEAT’S CHOICE, which had to be checked. At a subsequent inquiry stewards were of the opinion that both runners were attempting to obtain the same position one off the rail and as a result took no further action.
