Fradd stated that it was his intention, if possible, from the wide barrier to settle just off the speed with cover, however, after travelling a short distance he was caught three wide with cover. When asked whether there was an opportunity for him to restrain to find a position closer to the rail, he explained that he was not able to restrain and was obliged to race three wide. Disappointed for a run approaching the 150m to the outside of FLEUR DE JOUR and to the inside of MY BOY SOOTY, which laid in despite the efforts of its rider, had to be eased and shift wider on the course in order to improve and again was awkwardly placed at the heels of PRICKLY TICK and went to the line without being fully tested.
