A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Trainer’s representative was advised that as this was the first occasion of bleeding, under the provisions of AR79(4), that the gelding would be barred from racing for a period of 3 months and must gallop 1000m before Stewards prior to racing again.

Slow to begin and then crowded for room a short distance later. When asked to comment on the performance apprentice B. Wheeler stated it had been his intention to ride in a more forward position, however with the removal of the blinkers from the horse’s gear, the gelding was tardy away and unable to muster speed. He further added when restraining from heals near the 800m, the gelding raced ungenerously for a short distance with its head in the air. Lost the off hind plate in running.
