When questioned regarding the performance, jockey M Rodd stated that the gelding travelled well throughout, however when placed under pressure in the home straight, RAQEEQ failed to respond to his urgings and therefore he elected not to place his mount under any more pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
