Rider reported her saddle slipped backwards during the early stages and as a consequence placed her a disadvantage for the remainder of the event. Stewards questioned Trainer P Nolan (Jnr) in relation to the seemingly improved performance. Mr Nolan advised that as the gelding was 2nd up from a spell today, it derived a significant fitness advantage from its first up run. He added that he had also removed the Tongue Tie and added Blinkers to the geldings gear for today’s event and based on those factors he had expected an improved performance in todays event..

When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, Jockey S Lacy, advised due to the strong tempo during the event the gelding did not travel strongly on the bit during throughout. She added that the gelding made the home turn awkwardly whilst racing greenly and in her opinion was not suited by the tight turning track. Stewards noted the explanation.
