When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance, Trainer Mr J Dunn advised that at the geldings most recent run it lost its tongue tie was dislodged in running which disadvantaged it on that occasion. He added that in his opinion the strength of this race was far weaker than which it had been competing in at recent starts. Stewards noted the explanation.
