Jockey B Rawiller reported that the gelding hung in throughout and failed to travel comfortably at any stage of the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities at the time of examination.

Bumped at the start. A short distance later hampered when placed in restricted room between runners. Held up rounding the home turn and upon straightening and again passing the 100m.

Raced wide without cover throughout. When questioned as to performance Jockey J Parr noted the gelding was fractious prior to start. Jockey Parr added that whilst the gelding was obliged to race wide without cover he was under pressure leaving the 500m and was most disappointing. Trainer T Edmonds noted the gelding was having its first start for his stable and was at a loss to explain the performance. Mr Edmonds indicated he may freshen the gelding up before its next start and undertook to report to stewards any abnormalities subsequent to the race. Post-race vet exam – no abnormalities.
