When afforded the opportunity to comment on the performance, Jockey N Thomas stated that the gelding travelled well throughout the race until a point passing the 600m when the gelding failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities at the time of examination.
