Following the event Jockey A. Fancourt reported that the gelding was making an abnormal respiratory noise. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities, however, the veterinary surgeon recommended the gelding be scoped.

Passing the 900m, bumped by ELEMENTAE which laid in and raced in restricted room for a short distance. Stable representative for Trainer S. Leef advised stewards following the event that the gelding was showing signs of being lame and needed veterinary attention. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg.

Stood flat-footed and then when jumping away, began awkwardly shifted in and lost considerable ground. Jockey A. Spinks reported that in his opinion the gelding resented the cross-over noseband and recommended to connections that they remove that gear for its next start.
