Beaten favourite ($1.75). Inconvenienced at the start and was then inclined to throw its head in the air and failed to stretch out. Raced wide without cover. Eased down in the home straight. Rider reported that the gelding failed to stretch out throughout the event and felt awkward in its action and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
